Brick Stitch is a common technique used for creating basic beaded earrings. Often intermingled with the Comanche Stitch. Both grid/patterns are the same. The weaving technique is different. Brick stitch uses the loops of thread between beads to attach new beads. Comanche stitch weaves thread through beads in order to attach new beads. From a basic triangle of beads you can create an earring or bracelet or the sky's the limit. Starting with smaller items with few colors can make learning less intense. Shown below: 1 triangle with a loop (top)and fringe (bottom). Add an ear wire and you have an earring. |
