Maneki Neko Prosperity Cat Earrings
Maneki Neko is the lucky cator beckoning cat symbol famous throughout Japan for bringing good fortune of all kinds, especially to travellers. You will see cats similar to these at cash registers, holding the Japanese symbol for prosperity. (I didn't duplicate that here, just the little gold tablet, and indicated it instead by adding stick fringe with belly dance coins on the ends). One story is that a traveller passed a shrine and saw a cat sitting in front of it, beckoning with its paw. He went to see what the cat wanted just as a boulder crashed down from the mountain right where he would have been standing. Another story tells of an old woman so poor she had to sell her cat (we hope to a good home where it was allowed to chase mice and loved, petted and adored). After that, the cat visited her dreams and told her to fashion a cat who looked just like him, beckoning, and she became rich. Anyway, if you like cats, Japan and folk tales, it can't hurt!

Matthew 5:8 Blessed are the pure in heart, for they will see God. With this scripture in mind, I designed these heart-shaped earrings with a single white lily (meaning purity) nestled inside. PDF includes brief instructions for adding findings, image of the completed earrings, suggested Delica colors with descriptive names and Delica # and a full-color pattern with letters corresponding to the colors. If you are looking for a meaningful keepsake to give someone special or you need to make items for a church bazaar, these earrings are quick, easy and inexpensive to make since they only require 3 colors of beads.

Perfect for making your own beaded necklaces for yourself, for gifts or to sell this instant download pdf has text, diagrams and photos with all steps clearly laid out. All of my tutorials contain full instructions and tips as well as check lists for all tools, materials and techniques needed to help you shop and plan.

Made using round 14mm objects as the centrepiece (such as Swarovski crystal rivolis, glass eyes or Swarovski flatback chessboard stones) you can play with your choices to create different looks beaded all in one. A knowledge of peyote stitch (especially increasing and zipping pieces together) is recommended. This project is more suited to a non-beginner.
