Make a vintage-inspired, one-of-a-kind pendant using a brass filigree piece, your favorite beads and a little creativity! Although this is primarily a needlework class, you will have the option to bend and maybe even cut the filigree to make your pendant more organic and freeform - or not! Either way, your pendant will be beautiful. Students will be able to finish a necklace in class and wear it home. Prerequisite: Knowledge of any one of the following beadweaving stitches: peyote, brick or herringbone. Full supply list: 1 or 2 colors of size 11 Delica beads; small amounts of a variety of seed beads (several colors, sizes and shapes), including any of the following: size 15, 11 and 8 round, any size triangle, cube and hex beads; small assortment of other beads (crystals, pearls, fire polish, glass, etc.), 3-5mm; 1 focal bead (small briolette, Swarovski Margarita crystal or crystal link with 2 holes all work great); 1 brass filigree piece, 40mm - 60mm; Smoke Grey FireLine braided beading thread, size D (.008”); brass chain in desired length; 1 brass clasp; 3 brass jump rings; optional: 1-5 brass head pins, chain nose pliers, round nose pliers, tin snips, metal file.
