Inspired by the magatama bangle done by Nancy Jones in the Feb/Mar 2011 issue of Beadwork, this bracelet is done in herringbone instead, which I find MUCH easier and quicker to master than the brick stitch method.

This tutorial teaches you to make a necklace using 4mm cubes and 11/0 seed beads with 4mm fire polish accents. I made mine in bronze and black but you will make it in colors that suit you. Brick stitch, spiral rope and leaf fringe are taught in this tutorial. It could be more delicate if made with 3mm cubes size 15 seed beads and 3mm fire polish.

Pattern makes a 17 inch collar, but you can extend it a couple more sections - leaving pearls off the end sections if needed. The Bronze and Cream colors make a rich looking combination but you can choose your own colors and choice of bead to dangle. Use flat peyote and brick stitch to create this necklace. This is my 3rd in a series of Saraguro style collars Rainbow 13702 Jungle 11700 This is an intermediate project.
